Elon Musk Planning To Allow Blue Tick For $20 & Bring Back Vine – Twitter

Elon Musk is now completely in charge of Twitter and is making major changes to the company. In his beginning week of being Twitter Chief Executive Officer, Musk disbanded the company’s board of directors transferring the power of the board with himself. He also dismissed four top executives, including the former Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal and the policy director Vijaya Gadde, and general counsel Sean Edgett. Based on anonymous reports, the fourth of the executives was removed from Twitter’s office.

Alongside the new leadership, the company is also set to undergo significant adjustments to its business. Musk is looking to bring back Vine which is Twitter’s looping videos application, which was shut in 2016. Musk himself conducted an online survey asking users if they would like to see Vine returned. Out of the 5 million who voted more than 70% of them of them said yes.

Musk has been reported to want Vine returning in 2022 by the time 2022 is over however, as a the former Vine staffer who was in charge of the shutdown of Vine, Sara Beykpour tweeted that the “code is at least 6 years old. A portion of the code is older than 10.” She added that If Twitter would like to bring back Vine the company must start from scratch.

Modifications in APIs and security policy and other aspects can make patching old code more trouble than starting from scratch. Twitter engineers may use the latest video-related codes in Twitter to revive Vine.

A report published yesterday suggested Musk plans to include verification as an exclusive feature the Twitter’s Blue subscription program , and increase the cost of this subscription from $5 to $20 per month.

Musk is reported to be so determined that he’s set employees until November 7th to make changes, or face being fired.
