It Is Expected Google Might Remove Call Recording Apps From PlayStore

Beginning on Android 10.0.0, Google stopped recording calls by default . On May 11, Google will be making changes to Google Play Store policies preventing third-party applications from making use of access to the Accessibility API for recording the audio stream of a call.

Those changes are towards improved privacy and security as call recording laws across the world vary quite a bit. However, system, pre-installed apps that already have permission to tap on the Accessibility API won’t be affected by the change.

Dialers from Xiaomi and Pixel for instance are two examples of a few exceptions to the rule. It’s considered to be an in-built call recording feature. Even though Google did not reveal plans for handling these in the future, we’d think that additional rules will be put in place in the near future.
